Privacy Policy
Effective 2 September 2026.
PMF Signal ("PMF Signal," "we," "us") is currently operated by an individual, not a registered company. This policy explains what data the service collects, why, and what you can do about it. Questions or requests: admin@pmfsignal.com.
What we collect
- Account info, via our authentication provider (Clerk): your email address and name.
- Founder profile: the budget, hours per week, revenue goals, and skill self-assessment you enter to calibrate your reports.
- Submitted content: the business idea text you type, and any document you attach — markdown, plain text, or PDF. This may describe your own idea, or a plan someone else wrote that you're evaluating.
- Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — only what Stripe reports back (e.g. that a payment succeeded, and the last four digits for your own reference).
- Usage history: the reports and plans you've generated, and your credit balance and purchase history.
- Anonymous analytics, on the public marketing pages only (not the signed-in product) — page views and referrers via Vercel Web Analytics. You can exclude your own browser from this at any time by visiting any page with
?noanalytics=1appended to the URL. - Cookies and local storage: a session cookie (to keep you signed in), a theme preference, and the analytics opt-out flag above. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
Your founder profile and submitted idea (including any attached document) are sent to Anthropic's API to generate your research report or execution plan. Payment details are sent to Stripe to process purchases. Your account is authenticated through Clerk. If you connect PMF Signal to an AI client (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini CLI) through our MCP server, that client can read the reports and plans you've authorized it to access, using a token or OAuth grant only you control.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your submitted ideas or documents to train any model.
Third-party processors
We rely on a small number of providers to run the service: Anthropic (AI processing), Stripe (payments), Clerk (authentication), and Vercel, whose infrastructure includes our database (Neon) and analytics. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.
A note on third-party content
PMF Signal lets you attach a document that someone else wrote — a plan you're deciding whether to build. You're responsible for having the right to submit that content for research purposes. We generate the report you asked for; we don't review submitted material for ownership or consent before doing so.
Data retention and your rights
We keep your profile, reports, and purchase history for as long as your account is active, so your history stays intact. There is currently no self-serve export or delete button. To request a copy of your data, or to have your account and its data deleted, email admin@pmfsignal.com — we handle these requests by hand. Deleting your account does not reverse completed purchases.
International transfers
Our infrastructure and processors operate primarily in the United States. By using PMF Signal you consent to your data being processed there.
Children
PMF Signal is a business research tool, not directed at children. It is not intended for use by anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision; material changes will be reflected here.
